Why I Went to the US. -Ep. 1-

For today's post, I'll talk about the reason why I decided to go to the US.

5-year-old me...

I still clearly remember the first day of visiting the US.
I was only five years old.

At LAX, the airport in Los Angeles, my family and I were right about to pass the customs.
Then I saw my parents speaking English to the staff person which I didn't even recognize what kind of language they were speaking.
I only understood that it was anything but Japanese.

That scene tremendously shocked me, but it looked so cool to me, too.
Instantly I was driven to have desire for becoming an English speaker.

This was what happened to me at the age of five.

The first setback... 

It happened when I was five as well.

I had been interested in English since I was little, but I also had a feeling at the same time like "I would never be able to speak English" because I knew nothing about English then.

 The feeling easily discouraged me from learning English because I had no idea what to do to make it real.
So I planned that I would let my future children learn English from an early age so that I could ask them to teach me English when they grew up

So I didn't start anything to meet the desire.
Instead, I tried to forget it.

Now I know this was ridiculous.
But that was my first setback for sure.

あとがき

今回は渡米したわけ（エピソード１）ということで
全編英語で書いてみました。

論文を書いているわけではないので
ある程度カジュアルな文章になりました。
